Website Explanation

September 5th, 2008

If you look on the sidebar on the right, you will notice some differences. I will go through the basics now.

First up we have ‘Pages’. These are the static information, or rarely changing information. When and where the meetings are. They are split into Pack and Troop sections and should be fairly self explanatory. More Troop information is on it’s way!

Categories is next. These again have been split into Pack and Troop. Every post here has at least one category and several have more. So if you want to look at only Pack posts, you click on the ‘Pack’ category and can view them all. If you want only the events, then click on ‘Pack Events’ and that will show you only posts tagged ‘Pack Events’ which should be the Pampanito trip and Rockets and the like. The only other category is ‘website’ which are things like this post that don’t relate to either Pack or Troop.

Below that are various links and the recent posts and so on that should be familiar to all.

Hope you like the enhancements :)

Website Changes

September 5th, 2008

You may have noticed no updates for a little while. I have been updating the website (behind the scenes) and now I am going to be updating it in more visible ways. So keep an eye out for the new changes :)

Pampanito Trip

August 6th, 2008

Not long now until San Francisco!  A quick reminder that a few parents haven’t completed all the forms.  Emails should have gone out reminding those who are missing forms.  Also everyone must fill in the medical form from Scouter.org (it can be found on this page).

In addition, the following rules have been given to us, the most important of which are listed below:

  • All Scouts and adults will wear long pants, closed toe shoes and have a jacket for the evening.
  • Do not bring electronic devices, including pagers, videogames, computers etc.
  • There is Zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs and weapons.  This includes any knives for those Scouts that have passed their whittling badge.
  • There is no smoking on the pier or on the submarine.
  • Anyone leaving the pier after 7pm won’t be allowed back in!

There were some additional rules however that are superseded by Scout rules, for example 1 adult per 6 children, which we have a 1 to 1 ratio.

You need to bring:

  • Sleeping bag (and blankets if you think you might get cold)
  • Pillows
  • Personal Toiletries
  • Face Cloth
  • Warm Clothing
  • Scout Uniform (adults too, if you have it)
  • Camera
  • Flashlight
  • Medical Forms (linked to above)

Schedule for the trip:

Pampenito Meeting Update

July 8th, 2008

If you missed last nights meeting you must contact Nate ASAP to hand in any forms and get the schedule etc.

As discussed in the meeting, everyone must also fill in a medical form.  This form is on Scouter.org and can be found on this page.  The direct link should be here for it.

San Francisco Trip Reminder

July 4th, 2008

Monday night there is a mandatory meeting for all parents going.  It will be held at Nate’s house (as always) at 6:30 pm.  We will be going over the itinerary of the trip and any questions you may have.

Please read all the information Nate has sent prior to the meeting. This will help answer a lot of questions that have been asked.  All paper work must be filled out and turned in by this date.  If there is anyone who is unable to attend, they must call Nate prior to the meeting to get their paper work turned in and get the hand outs.

Reminder Float Decorating

July 3rd, 2008

Don’t forget the float decorating at 7pm tonight at Nate’s house.

Please bring any decorations that are Red, White, & Blue

Scrapbooking

June 11th, 2008

Everyone should have been told, but just to remind everyone we will be doing a scapbooking event on the 20th of June at the Church.  Setup is at 6:30, while the actual scrapbooking will be from 7-9pm.

We are also doing “potluck” dessert (preferably nothing messy for the pictures).

All parents are asked to bring pictures and scrapbooking materials if possible please.

Theme Change

May 28th, 2008

You may have noticed this page has changed a little.  I’ve been playing around with the CSS and came up with a new theme.  I hope you like it.  I think it is a little less ‘busy’ then the old one, and should work better if you have a smaller screen also.

There are still a few things I need to change, but that is probably just me that I always think I can do it better.
Let me know what you think though :)

Pack Meeting 27th May - STILL ON!

If you have any questions please call.  I will not be there until around 6 – 6:15 pm, if you have any questions about the set up please call Jeannette or Shaylene.

See you there tomorrow.
